Bob Tyrrell
Coach Bob began coaching 1993 in Niles Ohio. Since then he has been the head coach for a number of different USA Swim clubs, coaching swimmers from “learn to swim”, NAG top 16, YMCA Nationals, Age Group Sectionals, Senior Sectionals, Junior Nationals, and U.S.Opens. In addition to his club experience he he also had the opportunity to coach in the NCAA for 4 years as an assistant coach for the Youngstown State University Division I Swimming and Diving Team. He and his wife have called the Outer Banks Home since 2009 and are enjoying raising their three beautifully crazy, yep super awesome, kids in the OBX.
Walker Ross
Head Age Group Coach
Coach Walker was born and raised on the Outer Banks and has always loved the water. His love for the ocean led him to work as an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard in Duck, Southern Shores, and the National Parks for 7 summers. Coach Walker still trains new and returning Ocean Rescue Lifeguards each spring to prepare them for the season. He swam competitively from 3rd grade to 10th grade. Coach Bob was actually Walker's swim coach for 4 years! Walker will tell you that his years of highest achievement in swimming were with Coach Bob. When he's not swimming, he enjoys time with his wife and dog Yogi, running trails, watching sports, and time with his friends.
